Stand Up For Pits with Rebecca Corry

The SUFP Foundation is dedicated to ending abuse, discrimination and saving the lives of pit bull “type" dogs. This "type" of dog based solely on appearance is the target of extreme abuse, discriminatory bans and has been falsely vilified for over 3 decades and it must end. Stand Up For Pits events help us to educate, advocate and save lives. Pit Bull type dogs are born inherently good and deserve to be protected, respected and treated with compassion and without prejudice like all life deserves.

These shows save countless lives, help shelter animals, raise national awareness for our dogs and support other pit bull “type" dog rescues around the country working hard. BARK NATION will be bringing available Pibbles for adoption and benefitting from selling merchandise, accepting donations and doing silent auctions. Ticket sales go to the Stand Up For Pits Foundation.

There is much work to be done and we are all in this together. We thank those who remain dedicated to being the voice for the voiceless and saving lives. We look so forward to seeing you all in Detroit and please remember to bring some much needed shelter supplies for your local shelter animals!

React Presents: Poolside with Neil Frances

Poolside began as a recording project in a converted Los Angeles backyard pool house in early 2011, producing sunny tracks of subaquatic indie dance music in this makeshift recording studio. Surfacing first in the form of a YouTube video for the catchy track "Do You Believe?" Poolside were soon gaining local and national attention, with DJs like by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, techno legend Derrick May, and disco don Todd Terje spinning these tracks at events and a growing online following. Throughout 2011 Poolside continued making waves with a sound called "daytime disco" through tracks like a cover of Neil Young's "Harvest Moon" as well as original tunes. In 2012 Poolside worked on a remix for longtime disco punks The Rapture and held fans over with a new single and video for a song called "Slow Down" as they prepared to release their debut album. That album, Pacific Standard Time, was released in July of 2012 on their own Day & Night label.

AEG Presents: Liz Phair - Amps on the Lawn Tour with Speedy Ortiz

Liz Phair is a Grammy-nominated singer songwriter whose debut album, Exile In Guyville, is considered by music critics to be a landmark of indie rock. She has been a recording artist and touring performer for twenty-five years, paving the way for countless music artists, particularly women, who count her among their major influences.  Her deeply clever and often brutally candid songs have been garnering critical praise since she began her career in the early 1990s in Chicago by self-releasing audio cassettes under the name Girly-Sound.  The intense viral response to these early tracks led to Phair signing with the independent record label Matador Records. Pallbearer & Tribulation

Pallbearer’s third album, Heartless, is an inspired collection of monumental rock music. The band offers a complex sonic architecture that weaves together the spacious exploratory elements of classic prog, the raw anthemics of 90’s alt-rock, and stretches of black-lit proto-metal. Lyrics about mortality, life, and love are set to sharp melodies and pristine three-part harmonies. Vocalist and guitarist Brett Campbell has always been a strong, assured singer, and on Heartless, his work’s especially stunning. This may in part be due to the immediacy of the lyrics. Written by Campbell and bassist/secondary vocalist Joseph D Rowland, the words have moved from the metaphysical to something more grounded. As the group explains: “Instead of staring into to the void—both above and within—Heartless concentrates its power on a grim reality. Our lives, our homes and our world are all plumbing the depths of utter darkness, as we seek to find any shred of hope we can."

Countless bands have gotten the trajectory wrong. Too many haven’t figured out the musical calculus. More than is fair have veered off the proverbial map never to be heard of again. And they’ve all suffered greatly from it. Not Tribulation. From 2009’s The Horror to 2013’s The Formulas of Death, the Swedes secretly figured out how to refactor death metal’s tenets to their favor. No more were Tribulation merely the product of their influences but rather something more, a step beyond wanton barbarity and the unharnessed fire of youth. Likewise, the venture between 2015’s The Children of the Night—a breakout moment for the Stockholmites—and new album Down Below is a yet another step into the unknown, where shadowy creatures glare with eyes ablaze and howl with white fangs bared. The years between and miles traveled could’ve forced the Swedes off their fiendish path, but they stayed true. From its obsidian core to its fluttering expanses, Down Below is a triumph of darkness and death. Or, very much Tribulation.

AEG Presents: Alina Baraz - Welcome To Desire Tour with JMSN

Alina Baraz is a singer and songwriter whose uniformly mellow material flits between downtempo electronica and slightly left-of-center R&B. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio but based in Los Angeles, California following a creative epiphany, Baraz gained some notice in 2013 through her collaborations with producers Galimatias ("Drift," "Make You Feel") and ESTA ("Paradise"). Baraz and Denmark native Galimatias developed a deeper creative partnership, instigated by Baraz via SoundCloud, which birthed Urban Flora. Credited to both artists, the eight-track EP was released by the Ultra label in May 2015 and debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at number 111. Baraz followed up in early 2017 with a collaborative single, "Electric," this time featuring guest vocalist Khalid. Her first solo EP, The Color of You, was released in 2018, and featured the single "I Don't Even Know Why Though.

AEG Presents: Cherub with Maddy O'Neal

Beyond the fog of burning blunts, the sea of whiskey, and forest of empties, you’ll find two sweethearts in a Nashville garage. Just as they were yesterday, the day before that, and years prior. Searching for the perfect combination of string plucking, button pushing, and knob turning to craft the ideal sound to make you forget your world and step into theirs. The aforementioned sweethearts are Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber; known to most as “Cherub."
