Stiff Little Fingers - 40th Anniversary Tour

Stiff Little Fingers were formed in 1977 in Belfast, Ireland. Along with the likes of the Clash, Sex Pistols, The Jam, Buzzcocks, Undertones, Sham 69, Stranglers, et al – Stiff Little Fingers were at the forefront of the punk movement. They wrote initially about their own lives, growing up at the height of The Troubles in Northern Ireland, in songs like “Suspect Device” and “Wasted Life”. In November of ’77, they released those two songs on their own Rigid Digits label, and sent a copy to BBC Radio One DJ John Peel, who started playing it every night. Good Show Presents: Deerhoof w/ Sad13 & Lily and Horn Horse

Though Deerhoof have often made albums from start to finish with virtually no input from the outside world, now is not the time for artists to operate in isolation. Mountain Moves throws the doors wide open. Working quickly, the band invited myriad guests to participate, some of them dear friends, others practically strangers. They are of different ages, different nationalities, different disciplines. The only common thread was that each and every artist on Mountain Moves doesn’t fit into a single, neatly-defined category – and doesn’t wish to. WSG: Sad13 | Lily and Horn Horse

Bleep Bloop’s musical world is one of stripped back, bass-heavy beats paired with stark, surreal soundscapes. Aggressive and off the wall sounds weave in and out of heavy drums as he blends genre’s into a low frequency style that works as well at a festival as it does in your headphones.

Black Iris Presents: The Breeders w/ Flasher

The Breeders started life as a side project for Kim Deal of the Pixies, Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses, Josephine Wiggs of the British band The Perfect Disaster, and Britt Walford of Slint. They recorded the album Pod with Steve Albini in a mere ten days, in Edinburgh, Scotland. The album was released on 4AD in 1990 to critical acclaim. The press dubbed the Breeders an Indie Supergroup, but the band were able to play only two London shows before returning to their day jobs. WSG: Flasher

ALVVAYS w/ Jay-Som

Alvvays is due to release its second full-length, Antisocialites, this September. The album is the much-anticipated follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut album which received accolades from Pitchfork, NPR, Rolling Stone and more. Across its 10 tracks and 33 minutes the Toronto-based group dive back into the deep-end of reckless romance and altered dates. Ice cream truck jangle collides with prismatic noise pop while Molly Rankin's wit is refracted through crystalline surf counterpoint. Through thoughtful consideration in basement and abroad, Alvvays has renewed its Scot-pop vows with a powerful new collection of manic emotional collage. WSG: Jay-Som

The Bloody Beetroots Live

The Bloody Beetroots is Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, the Italian producer born the same year as punk rock, a fact emphatically made clear by the “1977” tattooed across his chest. In fact, that tattoo is about the most identifying public feature of Rifo, whose penchant for wearing masks (see other cultural phenomena from Underground Resistance to “V is for Vendetta”) seems to be a declaration of ominous anonymity that defers the spotlight to his long list of productions, projects, films, art, manifestoes and musical incarnations emanating from his
Bloody Beetroots production epicenter.

LUNA w/ Soccer Mommy

Luna, the New York-based quartet, were last seen on stage in February 2005. In 2015 they will play their first shows in ten years.

Luna recorded 8 studio albums between 1992 and 2005. The current touring lineup is the exact ’99-’05 group that recorded Luna Live!, Romantica, Close Cover Before Striking, and Rendezvous: Dean Wareham and Sean Eden on guitar, Lee Wall on drums, and Britta Phillips on bass.

At their best, it’s hard to believe there is any other kind of music besides this simple, graceful, chiming chug — the Guardian WSG: Soccer Mommy

Hippo Campus w/ Remo Drive

"There's a moment in growing up when it becomes clear that the road you walk is your own to cultivate."

A surprisingly profound sentiment for a band of 21-year olds. Nevertheless, it's a sentiment that animates much of landmark, the debut album from Minneapolis' Hippo Campus.

Maximo Park

Along with post-millennium acts The FUTUREHEADS, FRANZ FERDINAND and KAISER CHIEFS, Geordie art-rockers MAXIMO PARK cast a glamorous shade of post-punk on northern skies, being one of the few privileged guitar bands to ink a deal with cult electronic imprint, Warp Records. Keeping his Northern English brogue intact, singer Paul Smith gives the impression he’s swallowed his parent’s punk/new wave vinyl collection, but with a fresh take on the genre, they somehow pull it off to the Max.
