AEG Presents: FOXYGEN w/ Cut Worms

Foxygen and Star Power is the Los Angeles songwriting duo of 24-year-olds Sam France and Jonathan Rado. In May 2011, France and Rado nervously handed off a CD-R of this homemade mini-opus Take the Kids Off Broadway (Jagjaguwar, 2012) to producer and visionary Richard Swift after his performance in a Lower East Side club. The duo, who had just mixed and burned the disc that very night, had been devotees of Swift’s outsider-pop oeuvre since high school, when they first began recording their own pubescent forays into oddball rock n’ roll (At least a dozen records were finished before they graduated high school). Black Iris Presents: Negative Approach + Bloodclot w/ Tribes Collide

Negative Approach was born in Detroit, MI. in 1981 with John Brannon on vocals, OP Moore on drums, and Rob & Graham McCulloch playing guitar and bass, respectively. They released one ten song 7" and a full length (both on Touch and Go) before disbanding in 1985. John Brannon went on to form Laughing Hyenas. Negative Approach's minimalist (read: 30 second songs) and aggressive brand of punk inspired countless hardcore bands around the globe. Their classic LP, Tied Down, is still in print and considered paramount by most any hardcore abecedarian.

Todd Youth (ex-Murphy's Law, ex-Danzig) - Guitars

AEG Presents: Banks

A singer and songwriter who crafts moody, downcast alternative pop with shades of contemporary R&B, Jillian Banks started writing as a teenager in her native Tarzana, California after a friend gave her a keyboard. For years, she wrote and played as a personal release, but she uploaded "Before I Ever Met You" -- a sleek, low-key track that sounded like the work of someone who had grown up listening to Fiona Apple and Massive Attack -- in early 2013. Within a matter of months, the Los Angeles native was releasing singles for Good Years (in the U.K.) and the reactivated Harvest (in the U.S.), including "Warm Water" (produced by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs) and "Fall Over." That September, she released a four-track EP, London, as she was opening for the Weeknd during a North American tour. Her full-length debut, Goddess, which featured collaborations with producers Justin Parker and Shlohmo and additional work with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, arrived in September 2014 and debuted at number 12 on the Billboard 200 chart. Harvest issued a large collection of remixes as a digital download in 2015. The following year saw the release of her much anticipated sophomore full-length, The Altar, which featured the singles "Fuck with Myself," "Gemini Feed," and "Mind Games." ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
