ALVVAYS

Alvvays is due to release its second full-length, Antisocialites, this September. The album is the much-anticipated follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut album which received accolades from Pitchfork, NPR, Rolling Stone and more. Across its 10 tracks and 33 minutes the Toronto-based group dive back into the deep-end of reckless romance and altered dates. Ice cream truck jangle collides with prismatic noise pop while Molly Rankin's wit is refracted through crystalline surf counterpoint. Through thoughtful consideration in basement and abroad, Alvvays has renewed its Scot-pop vows with a powerful new collection of manic emotional collage.

LUNA

Luna, the New York-based quartet, were last seen on stage in February 2005. In 2015 they will play their first shows in ten years.

Luna recorded 8 studio albums between 1992 and 2005. The current touring lineup is the exact ’99-’05 group that recorded Luna Live!, Romantica, Close Cover Before Striking, and Rendezvous: Dean Wareham and Sean Eden on guitar, Lee Wall on drums, and Britta Phillips on bass.

At their best, it’s hard to believe there is any other kind of music besides this simple, graceful, chiming chug — the Guardian

Hippo Campus w/ Remo Drive

"There's a moment in growing up when it becomes clear that the road you walk is your own to cultivate."

A surprisingly profound sentiment for a band of 21-year olds. Nevertheless, it's a sentiment that animates much of landmark, the debut album from Minneapolis' Hippo Campus.

Maximo Park

Along with post-millennium acts The FUTUREHEADS, FRANZ FERDINAND and KAISER CHIEFS, Geordie art-rockers MAXIMO PARK cast a glamorous shade of post-punk on northern skies, being one of the few privileged guitar bands to ink a deal with cult electronic imprint, Warp Records. Keeping his Northern English brogue intact, singer Paul Smith gives the impression he’s swallowed his parent’s punk/new wave vinyl collection, but with a fresh take on the genre, they somehow pull it off to the Max.

AEG Presents: Mogwai w/ Xander Harris

The cosmic post-rock band Mogwai was formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1996 by guitarist/vocalist Stuart Braithwaite, guitarist Dominic Aitchison, and drummer Martin Bulloch, longtime friends with the goal of creating "serious guitar music." Toward that end, they added another guitarist, John Cummings, before debuting in March 1996 with the single "Tuner," a rarity in the Mogwai discography for its prominent vocals; the follow-up, a split single with Dweeb titled "Angels vs. Aliens," landed in the Top Ten on the British indie charts. Following appearances on a series of compilations, Mogwai returned later in the year with the 7" "Summer," and after another early 1997 single, "New Paths to Helicon," they issued Ten Rapid, a collection of their earliest material.
