AEG Presents: Hamilton Leithauser w/ Courtney Marie Andrews

I Had A Dream That You Were Mine is an album of songs Hamilton Leithauser and Rostam wrote and recorded together between July 2014 and February 2016. In the spirit of collaborative albums, not unlike those of David Byrne and Brian Eno, each musician's individuality remains in tact, while in fact, on this record, both Hamilton's identity as a singer and Rostam's as a producer seem to reach new heights. Black Iris Presents: The Breeders w/ Flasher

The Breeders started life as a side project for Kim Deal of the Pixies, Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses, Josephine Wiggs of the British band The Perfect Disaster, and Britt Walford of Slint. They recorded the album Pod with Steve Albini in a mere ten days, in Edinburgh, Scotland. The album was released on 4AD in 1990 to critical acclaim. The press dubbed the Breeders an Indie Supergroup, but the band were able to play only two London shows before returning to their day jobs. WSG: Flasher

AEG Presents: Arkells w/ Irontom

“It’s a weird time to be a rock band right now,” observes Max Kerman, the singer, guitarist, and chief songwriter for the Arkells. “I just feel like rock has gotten so conservative and doesn’t know where to go. To be honest, I don’t really listen to a lot of rock music right now.”

That’s not a radical statement for your average twenty-something in this EDM-dominated era, but it’s a bit surprising coming from a guitar-slinging guy whose band seemingly personifies a certain old-school, ethic. Hailing from the gritty industrial outpost of Hamilton, Ontario, the Arkells have notched four Juno Awards and a gold record on their sweat-rusted belts, proving there’s still a place for passionate, no-bullshit rock ‘n’ soul in the mainstream. React Presents: Whethan

17-year old Chicago native Ethan Snoreck, better known by his stage name Whethan, has wasted no time in releasing some of this year's most upbeat electronic tracks. His Soundcloud is already adorned with millions of views, specializing in rhythmically driven remixes of the likes of TyUs, Louis the Child, and Zayn. Whethan's stage name came from a school nickname that his friends made up. Later at the age of 16, he would end up becoming the youngest producer ever to release a record on Australia's leading electronic label, Future Classic. Now Whethan finds himself getting booked on festivals such as Snowglobe, UpNorth, and HARD Summer while in his senior year of high school. Expect to see great things in Whethan's future, as his highly anticipated original releases will include features from the likes of Skrillex and Flux Pavilion. His debut original entitled "Can't Hide" has reached an impressive 3 million Spotify streams, and you can expect to see plenty of more exciting tracks coming up in 2017.

ALVVAYS w/ Jay-Som

Alvvays is due to release its second full-length, Antisocialites, this September. The album is the much-anticipated follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut album which received accolades from Pitchfork, NPR, Rolling Stone and more. Across its 10 tracks and 33 minutes the Toronto-based group dive back into the deep-end of reckless romance and altered dates. Ice cream truck jangle collides with prismatic noise pop while Molly Rankin's wit is refracted through crystalline surf counterpoint. Through thoughtful consideration in basement and abroad, Alvvays has renewed its Scot-pop vows with a powerful new collection of manic emotional collage. WSG: Jay-Som

Modern English w/ The Science Fair & DJ Pleasure Kitten

The first album in 30 years from the original line-up of the post-punk legends. Bands are like families, bound by something deeper than friendship - and liable to implode just as irrevocably. Yet that familial bond can equally draw you back, and so it is that four-fifths of the original Modern English have recorded their first album together in 30 years. Take Me To The Trees not only reconnects the band to their roots, in the fervent and fecund world of late 1970s/ early 1980s post-punk Britain, but they have co-produced it with Martyn Young of Colourbox and M/A/R/R/S fame, whose last production job was 1986. Moreover, the album's beautiful cover is by venerated art director Vaughan Oliver, whose very first sleeve design was Modern English's 'Gathering Dust' single in 1980. The Bloody Beetroots Live

The Bloody Beetroots is Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, the Italian producer born the same year as punk rock, a fact emphatically made clear by the “1977” tattooed across his chest. In fact, that tattoo is about the most identifying public feature of Rifo, whose penchant for wearing masks (see other cultural phenomena from Underground Resistance to “V is for Vendetta”) seems to be a declaration of ominous anonymity that defers the spotlight to his long list of productions, projects, films, art, manifestoes and musical incarnations emanating from his
Bloody Beetroots production epicenter.

LUNA w/ Soccer Mommy

Luna, the New York-based quartet, were last seen on stage in February 2005. In 2015 they will play their first shows in ten years.

Luna recorded 8 studio albums between 1992 and 2005. The current touring lineup is the exact ’99-’05 group that recorded Luna Live!, Romantica, Close Cover Before Striking, and Rendezvous: Dean Wareham and Sean Eden on guitar, Lee Wall on drums, and Britta Phillips on bass.

At their best, it’s hard to believe there is any other kind of music besides this simple, graceful, chiming chug — the Guardian WSG: Soccer Mommy

AEG Presents: Kamasi Washington

At the age of 13, Kamasi Washington started a lifelong quest discovering the many wonders of music. One night, his father left his soprano saxophone lying on the piano. Kamasi, filled with curiosity for all the beauty he heard from the instrument, picked up his father’s horn. Even though he didn’t know anything about the saxophone – in fact, never even touched one – he played Wayne Shorter’s composition “Sleeping Dancer Sleep On,” his favorite song at the time.
