“Jeremy Judkins (Shadow Attack) is a busy man. That isn’t to say he doesn’t enjoy the occasional repose, but between producing, performing, recruiting, recording, web designing, promoting, and having a very large hand in the management of Deepblip Records ( A local Detroit independent digital music distribution company ) … down-time is sparse. But in this case, the serious amount of focus and attention Shadow Attack lends to his work is nothing short of a blessing. I have never met an individual more focused and intent on doing whatever it takes to successfully do what he likes to do best; Music. Born in ‘86, Shadow Attack has been in a wide variety of acts that definitely run the gamut on genres. Intent on having a more direct hand in creation, he ventured off on his own into the dank, underground world of the Detroit electronic scene. Not entirely alone, though. Jeremy is just one of many in a group of excellent artists, performers and producers who belong to a digital distribution company by the name of Deepblip Records. Jeremy, not being content with only the performance aspect of the scene, and determined to have an entirely hands-on approach to the music industry both local and onward, organized the building of Deepblip Records with the help of some close mates and other ambitious local artists.” – the lord fox (music blog)

We have all been or will be down on our luck one way or another. It could be in the form of needing a place to rest for the night, a bite to eat, a ride somewhere or all of the above. The rave and club communities are one of the biggest monetary building businesses in the world. Where better to make a difference?
How can we make a difference by partying you ask? Well it is simple my friend, at participating party locations we will be collecting canned food and NON-perishable items for our local needy families. With you donating to this cause u will receive 2 free glow bracelets! You can’t go wrong!
We Love you Detroit! ♥

Authority Zero is a punk rock band from Mesa, Arizona. The band has punk rock and reggaeinfluences, with Bad Religion, Pennywise, and Sublimeas heavy influences for the band. There is also an obvious spanish/portuguese influence in the band’s music. The band was started in 1994 when Bill Marcks met Jason DeVore at Westwood High School. Marcks didn’t actually meet DeVore until the summer of 1995, until then Authority Zero consisted of two guitarists (Marcks & Jerry Douglas) and a drummer J.W. Gordon, all from Westwood. This trio put a few songs together without lyrics or basslines. When that summer rolled around, Douglas was expecting the yearly visit of his friend Jason DeVore, from Wyoming. Douglas introduced his long time friend and Marcks jokingly asked if he wanted to be their singer, soon later it was no joke.
Marcks was impressed with DeVore’s ability to “write catchy songs in fifteen minutes with really sticky hooks”. The two quickly enlisted Jeremy Wood on bass. His experience with lead guitar and musical theory separated his bass playing from others’. Not just a Read the full story

The Besnard Lakes :: Glass Printer
Lia Ices :: Grown Unknown
There is a war now. The message has been sent through short wave in code. The Besnard Lakes twisting chronicle, or fever dream, of spies, double agents, novelists and aspiring rock gods has turned violent. Loyalty, dishonor, love, hatred all seen through the eyes of two spies, fighting a war that may not be real. One follows the other as they receive coded messages and spread destruction. The city is burning, and it’s to the benefit of music obsessives everywhere. Once again, the husband-and-wife duo of Olga Goreas and Jace Lasek has crafted a majestic, sprawling vision of guitar bombast and captivating pop experiments.
The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night calls upon the influence of ELO and finer parts of the Alan Parsons Project in its orchestration. Still helped by the Ghost of Beach Boys Past, the album is more Dennis Wilson than Brian, and more Peter Green Fleetwood Mac than Lindsay Buckingham. That said, standout track “Albatross” has all the swagger of a Stevie Nicks-led Fleetwood Mac classic or Roy Orbison reimagined as a Read the full story
THEOPHILUS LONDON is a rapper, songwriter and producer from Brooklyn. Fader magazine places him at the center of the borough’s new urban pop movement, while UK music weekly NME goes in a bit further: “…his patter is sumptuous, his look untouchable, his soundscapes plucked from mythical ghetto neverlands…he’s the real deal.” His first mixtape JAM! was a buzzy DIY effort that tipped off early adopters in the underground, but it was the independent release of This Charming Mixtape via his brand The Lovers in early 2009 that introduced London’s voracious pop appetite and minted him as an artist to watch beyond mere hype. It’s possible this is the arrival of a once-in-a-generation talent: Theophilus London is very much in this moment but not of it.
No Joy :: Maggie Says I Love You
We could say a lot of things about the debut album from Montreal/LA ladies No Joy: that it fully delivers on the promise of their Mexican Summer 7”, that it builds upon the revitalization of shoegaze pop in recent times with a melodic fervor and angst that many of their contemporaries fail to capitalize on, that their records look and sound gorgeous, that there are moments on Ghost Blonde that match the challenges laid down by My Bloody Valentine and Lush years ago. We could say those things, but then what would the bloggers think? Probably the same. Oh well. We said it. Killer record from a band to be reckoned with. Ten new songs that’ll singe your eyelashes off. -Mexican Summer

“What happened to The Concretes?”, people asked. Not a single new song in three years from a band that had been as reliable as a Swiss watch, releasing a new album every year.
Time passed and even the band started to wonder, “What ever DID happen to The Concretes?” Well, of course, there was a lot going on. Life, cycling, egg poaching, gardening, travel, children. And other side projects. One member of the band even joined the circus.
Then, slowly, new songs began to appear. On a cold, crystal Christmas day last year, when everyone was in Stockholm for a drink, they wondered aloud, “Is it time to begin again? Afresh? Refreshed? Can we make an album?” and, after several more drinks, all eight Concretes stood up, raised their glasses and in one voice declared: “YES WE CAN”.
But what songs should they make? DISCO, someone said. YES, YES. They all agreed. A DISCO ALBUM. And that is what they did. Well, maybe not disco In the old euphoric seventies way, but in a Concretes way: dreamy and beautiful, but with a pulsing Read the full story
