In a city where identity is a difficult concept to grasp, the Heidelberg Project creates not only a name for itself but also a hope. Within its name, the Heidelberg Project is an internationally renowned artistic endeavor that is appreciated by scholars, by citizens of the city of Detroit, by tourists and beyond. The hope the Heidelberg Project creates is something that cannot be measured. Pure Detroit hopes to raise awareness to the Heidelberg Project through a rock benefit that not only helps raises money for future aspirations of the project, but also raises awareness to the projects and programs that the Heidelberg is putting together.
The Heidelberg Project Rock Benefit will feature bands on two stages at the Magic Stick. All proceeds collected at the door will directly benefit the Heidelberg Project’s ACE2 (a pilot program teaching third graders about the arts and community involvement over a 12-week span on-site at the Heidelberg) and Cultural Village (an indoor/outdoor artist space at the Heidelberg that includes children’s programs, a café, an amphitheater, etc.) programs.
