Los Angeles resident Steven Ellison a.k.a. Juno Leed a.k.a. Flying Lotus is a hip-hop producer and beat maker, occasionally linked to artists such as Madlib and fellow LA resident the Gaslamp Killer for his more abstract and sometimes jazz tinted style. Flying Lotus, often abbreviated to FlyLo, is currently signed to Warp Records, although he released his first album, 1983 on Plug Research Records, the label to which he belonged from 2006-2007. His June 2008 release, Los Angeles, with cover art designed by Timothy Saccenti, was released to positive critical reviews.

Kode9 (born Steve Goodman in Glasgow, Scotland) is a London-based electronic music artist, DJ, and owner of the Hyperdub record label. An MC, The Spaceape, is a frequent collaborator. Initially inspired by drum and bass, he also draws on dub reggae, and is associated with dubstep. He appeared on the Grime compilation onRephlex and released the full-length album Memories of the Future. Kode9 has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Warwick and has published a book, Sonic Warfare: Sound, Affect, and the Ecology of Fear.
